Leslie Van Houten Denied Parole For The 20th Time

Leslie Van Houten has been denied parole for the 20th time.
Van Houten, a former follower of Charles Manson, has been in prison since 1969.
She was a part of the famous Manson murder spree that summer.
While Van Houten did not participate in the killings of Sharon Tate and four others on August 9th, she was involved in the murders of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca the next night.
Van Houten has been called a model prisoner, but that was not enough to sway the parole board.
They felt that the bad she did outweighed any good she did while in prison.
Based on that, it seems that Van Houten will never be released.
The Tate/LaBianca murders were so gruesome that they are shocking to this day.
It is hard to believe that a failure like Charles Manson could get people to commit such acts.
It is my opinion that everyone involved in the murders must stay in prison for the rest of their lives.
In fact, they are all lucky just to be alive.
If California had not overturned the death penalty in the 1970s, all those convicted in the killings would have been put to death.
As for Leslie Van Houten, she must wait five more years before her next parole hearing.
